The oasis called Flor d’Luna is perched on a hilltop ridge, with views to the East and West… from sunrise to sunset, and in to the moonlight. The beautiful midcentury modern home is surrounded with gardens, paths and trees, creating a sense of complete privacy. An oasis of quiet and calm, overlooking a valley laced with vineyards and oaks, the pool and gardens include waterfalls and sitting areas perfect for relaxing in the warm sun or cool shade. At night the outdoor lighting creates a magical effect in the gardens.
Located behind private gates on a quiet road above the bustling Agua Caliente neighborhood, Flor d’Luna is in a fabulous location to quickly reach the wineries, regional parks, botanical gardens and farmer’s markets of Glen Ellen and Kenwood, and the shopping, tasting rooms, bars and restaurants of the Sonoma Plaza. It is complete with all of the luxuries needed for comfortable living and entertaining, with beautiful art and furnishings. The home features 3 very separate primary suites on different floors, and a total of 4 bedrooms, with 4.5 baths.
Upstairs, a primary suite adjoins the living and dining great room; there is a fully equipped kitchen and there are decks on three sides, with an outdoor kitchen and bar, and the pool and spa completing the upper level. Downstairs, a den with flat screen and fireplace for evening entertainment adjoin a second private apartment with a primary suite, second bedroom, kitchenette, an elliptical machine and yoga mats. There is also a 4th bedroom with attached full bathroom, with space for work, including a desk. Outside this room is the garden labyrinth for quiet moments of reflection. An outdoor shower, and a raised bed garden for vegetables, the carport and storage, and a greenhouse all complete the lower level.
The floor plan and outdoor spaces are perfect for a couple looking to have a spectacular retreat home, with the opportunity to invite overnight guests, who will have their own entrance, primary suite, kitchenette and access to outdoors.
The heated salt water pool and spa are located directly off of the living area, and next to the outdoor kitchen and bar area. Amazing in every way

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flor d’Luna in Sonoma. The property is beautiful inside and out. We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous garden setting with its fantastic views and lush landscaping. The pool and spa are beautiful, as is the surrounding decking. The outdoor kitchen and separate dining area made the afternoons seamlessly merge into dining and after dinner conversation in the dramatically lit garden. 
 
The home itself has a wonderful mid-century vibe and seamlessly connects the interior with the exterior space, making for a terrific entertaining environment. Our bedroom was spacious and the bath spa-like, overall, a very relaxing way to start or end the day. The home itself is centrally located and a short drive to Sonoma’s downtown square. As luck would have it our stay included a wonderful evening enjoying the Transcendence Theatre Company and Broadway Under the Stars. We also enjoyed brunch at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, which is minutes away, as well as wine tasting at a few of the valley’s best vineyards.  
 
From a practical perspective we really appreciated the secure and gated parking with EV hook-up and in today’s age the exceptional WiFi. We would highly recommend Flor d’Luna for anyone wanting to enjoy the relaxing lifestyle of Sonoma in a beautiful property with wonderful amenities.

Delightful Retreat

If you’re looking for a delightful retreat — Flor d’Luna is your place. Over the years we have stayed there several times and it always been a sanctuary for silence, rest and renewal. Once the gate closes behind you — you are in a world to yourself which is only 10 minutes to the Sonoma Plaza, but you feel miles away, safely tucked into this amazing property at crest of the hill. 

 

The pictures, though great, don’t do it justice: it is a special place with the pool and spa, the decks and views, the labyrinth and all the different sitting areas. So, if you’re looking for a perfect Sonoma get away — even though you’re minutes from wineries and hiking trails, restaurants, the towns of Sonoma, Kenwood and Glen Ellen — Flor d’Luna is your place. You won’t be disappointed, we weren’t!

Upscale Charm

Flor d’Luna has the upscale charm that we love about being in wine country and has been our go-to place to stay when we visit Sonoma. We love the privacy the property provides and the view from the back deck is spectacular. The outdoor entertainment spaces are perfect for an evening home with the outdoor kitchen right outside from the inside kitchen making it easy to transfer items back and forth. The pool is just stunning and heated for those cooler evenings. Inside, the modern and smart décor has a warm and comfortable feel. There are three large bedrooms with attached bathrooms and one bedroom with a private bath across the hall. The parking is behind private gates, and we regularly use the EV hook up provided. We love the close proximity to Sonoma Plaza as well as being on the outskirts of town making it easy to hit our favorite wineries and restaurants.

Amazing Qualities

These are the qualities I love best about this heavenly retreat:
 
1. The home is beautifully furnished and decorated with such taste and aesthetics, a perfect entertaining and gathering house with generous accommodations for hosting friends and family.
2. The gardens are so wondrous, perfect for personal reflection.
3. The location is ideal for walking the quiet streets in the hilly neighborhood, a great way to get some exercise before enjoying the bounty of Sonoma Valley food and wine.
4. Or, some days, I didn’t leave the grounds at all. It is such a paradise…
5. I love to cook in the sleek, modern kitchen. All of the appliances are first rate, including the outdoor barbecue.
6. Flor d'Luna is the perfect setting for reading, with magical opportunities to put my book down and just enjoy the inspiring views of the forested foothills and expansive vineyards.
7. The pool and hot tub are out of this world, with delicious waterfalls.
8. The town of Sonoma has so much to offer with its historic plaza, shops, restaurants, and trails for hiking.
9. The wineries in the area are top quality with so much intriguing history.
 
I cannot wait for my next stay!

Transported

“Transported”…that is what it feels like to drive onto the Flor d’Luna property. The enchanting house and grounds provide the perfect long term get away spot in Sonoma. You can close the gates and find yourselves alone with the magnificent oak trees, gardens and views, the stunning pool and patios,  and the comfy well curated home. There is even an intimate Meditation Garden! 
OR you can open the gates and avail yourself of all the wondrous things to do throughout the varied environments of the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. We have spent many days soaking in all the gift that is Flor d’Luna.   Guests have loved all of the spacious and private bedroom and sitting areas… what a great place to entertain, as well!

A Paradise

Inside and out, Flor d’Luna  exceeded our expectations in a myriad of ways.  The view of the green hills covered in vineyards, the bright sunshine on the afternoon's swimming pool surface, the soothing waterfalls, the soft gravel outside the door of our suite that crunched underfoot… 
The quiet of this hilltop location greeted us every morning as we walked toward the birdsong and searched out a new place to take our morning meditation. The leafy trees above the smooth planks of the deck were a setting for pure joy and soft conversation on the stools next to the casual outdoor kitchen bar. There is even a very spacious tiled shower in the en-suite bathroom in the bedroom we occupied.  It goes on and on… what more could we ask for?

Private Oasis

One of the most amazing things about this unique property are that it is a completely private oasis - with lush landscaping, at the end of the road, at the top of a hill.

Not only is it beautiful outdoors, but the amenities are unstoppable. There is an outdoor kitchen just outside of the house with beautiful seating and both heat when needed and shade umbrellas as well.  Just a very few steps away there is a unique swimming pool that will cool you down, and then you can step into the hot tub, which is directly next to the pool and relax…

Indoors, the house has an outstanding view of the hilltop vineyards, and a very lovely dining and living area just off the kitchen on the main floor plus a large, beautiful en-suite bedroom and a guest bathroom.
Downstairs there are two complete en-suite private bedrooms, and a fourth room that can be a bedroom or used for exercise or as an office space.  There is also a very cozy den on this floor with it’s own fireplace, and a laundry room… we found everything we wanted!

It all adds up to a wonderful private estate that is very well furnished and designed and private. We had a wonderful time staying there and it was very close to town for shopping, and to the countryside for wine tasting, hiking and more… we loved it all!

Magical

Magical, is the only way I can describe my stay at Flor d’Luna. The outdoors are magnificent. Sitting on top of a hill with an amazing view of the greenery around it, Flor d’Luna is comfortable and inviting. There is an area when you enter with a patio including a table and chairs for outside dining with friends surrounded by beautiful landscaping that leads you to the entry to the house.  Another deck with a full bar awaits you.  

 

The inside is beautifully decorated with a great kitchen, dining area and a living room with a fireplace.  There is a deck with a great view at the side of the house with a fire pit and off the dining room French doors leading one to a fabulous pool, deck and jacuzzi.  Great for entertaining and fine dining,

 

The primary bedroom is fabulous with a private bath on the main floor but I have experienced the downstairs suite with three bedrooms and three baths.  Comfortable and private. A home away from home.

 

I have stayed at Flor d’ Luna multiple times and each time it has been a beautiful experience.    So close to restaurants and wineries I can’t wait to go back.
